Spiritual Practice – As we look at Jesus’ 3rd and final fall, bring to mind all the times that you have fallen into the cycle of your own hurts, habits, and hang-ups. We are prone to enter the cycle of self-destructive behavior.  Where our natural inclination is to repeatedly return to our sin, the ancient Jews made ritualistic room to return to God.
This happened at the altar of incense where the prayer and intercession of God’s people would consistently rise before God.  It was an endless cycle of prayer that sought to redirect the self-destructive cycles of our life. 
Take a single stick of incense, light it on the torch, and place it in the container of sand below as a sign of stepping into this new cycle of prayer for yourself and others
Offer your prayers on behalf of others who are experiencing the harsh cycle of self-destruction as you watch the incense rise toward heaven.

Social Action – Proverbs 16:18 teaches us that “Pride comes before a fall,” but when people fall (aka fail) in a fashion that forces them into the criminal justice system they are stripped of this pride. So why is it that when inmates are released almost 44% return within 1 year? Why do they fail again and again? There has to be more than pride at play. Práctica Espiritual — Mientras que observamos la tercera y última caída de Jesús, recuerde todas las veces que has caído en el ciclo de sus propias heridas, hábitos y complejos. Somos propensos a entrar en el ciclo del comportamiento autodestructivo. Desde allí lo vemos gobernar y muchas veces arruinar nuestra vida y las vidas de los que nos rodean.
La antigua cultura judía no negaba esta naturaleza cíclica de nuestras vidas. Simplemente insertan una práctica alternativa en medio de ello. Donde nuestra inclinación natural era regresar repetidamente a nuestro pecado, ellos hicieron un espacio ritual para regresar a nuestro Dios. El altar del incienso era ese lugar. Era el altar donde la oración y la intercesión del pueblo de Dios constantemente se elevaban ante Dios. Fue un ciclo interminable de oración que buscaba reorientar los ciclos autodestructivos de nuestra vida.
Como un signo de entrar en este nuevo ciclo de oración por ti mismo y por los demás, te invitamos a tomar un solo palito de incienso, encenderlo en la antorcha y colocarlo en el recipiente de arena que se encuentra debajo. Haz una pausa por un momento para ofrecer tus propias oraciones en nombre de otros que están experimentando el ciclo duro de la autodestrucción mientras que observas cómo el incienso se eleva hacia el cielo.

Acción Social — Proverbios 16:18 nos enseña que "el orgullo precede a la caída", pero cuando las personas caen (es decir, fallan) de una manera que les obliga entrar en el sistema de justicia penal, se les despoja este orgullo.
