Spiritual Practice –As you stand under this weight, take a post-it note and write down 3 places where talking about your faith in the public sphere is hard and might be costly if you did. In this station, the women of Jerusalem draw near, but the men who were closest to Jesus are no longer found. For us, it is also tempting to deny Jesus or abandon the work of Christ when our faith is challenged or when people ask difficult questions. Take the post-it notes with you and stick them somewhere where you can see, and regularly pray that God will help you to be bold in these situations; to stand for and with Christ.

Social Action – While we may not be able to enter the local jail and draw near with our physical presence, we can draw near.   Upon entry into jail, each detainee is offered a journal to write, draw, and process their thoughts. In the basket is a stack of journals that are set to be delivered to the detainees at the Buncombe County Detention Facility. Grab a journal and a pen and write a short note of encouragement on the inside cover to let the unknown detainee know that you are thinking of them and holding them in your prayers.

Práctica Espiritual — En esta estación se acercan las mujeres de Jerusalén, pero ya no se encuentran los hombres que estaban más cerca de Jesús. Para nosotros, también es tentador negar a Jesús o abandonar la obra de Cristo cuando nuestra fe es desafiada o cuando la gente hace preguntas difíciles. Acción Social — Mientras que los hombres han abandonado a Jesús, las mujeres le acercaron. Él las consoló y ellas le brindaron consuelo y compañía a lo largo de su viaje. A pesar de que no podamos ingresar a la cárcel local y acercarnos con nuestra presencia física, podemos acercarnos. En la canasta hay un montón de diarios que se entregarán a los detenidos en el centro de detención de Buncombe County. Al ingresar, a cada detenido se les ofrece un diario para escribir, dibujar y procesar sus pensamientos.
